#MKGlam Influenster VoxBox

MKGlamI got my very first VoxBox from Influenster about 2 weeks ago. I was so excited to have been selected. I love being a person that people can go to for reviews or tips on products. I’ve been reviewing items online for years and just found out about Influenster.

Influenster is a community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influensters meet here to learn about new products from our favorite brands as well as review the products they already use in their day-to-day lives.

Now that I’ve told you a little about this amazing website, I’ll give a review of each product that I received in the box. I didn’t love everything but some were pretty great!

voxbox-blogimage-popup2I’ll start with my favorite product and work down from there. My favorite product from this box was Powder Brush. This brush is very high quality feeling. It’s very soft yet keeps its form very well. The shape of the handle is nice as well. I will be putting this in my daily brush drawer.

The next favorite is the eye color. I don’t use cream eye shadows often as I have very sensitive eyelids. I was shocked when I didn’t breakout to this. It’s very light yet very pigmented which is great! It dries fairly quickly so it won’t crease. I do suggest using an eye primer before hand, just to be safe.  I have very oily eyelids, so it’s a must when I wear eye products.

To go along with the eye color, I really loved the concealer/cream eye color brush. I tried applying the shadow two different ways, once with my finger and the other with this brush. I will say that I got a more even and more pigmented look with the brush. It’s very soft and doesn’t hurt when using it on the lids. The brush is also very easy to clean which is nice since I don’t want the eye color to dry on it and ruin it.

The next product I really liked I was actually surprised that I liked it. I am very picky when it comes to lip color. When I saw there was an “orange” color in the box, I first turned my nose up to it. I even swatched it on my hand and didn’t love it. I guess you really do have to try it to find out. Once I tried it on my lips since it complimented an outfit I was wearing, I was in love with it. It didn’t look orange at all on my lips. The only think I don’t love about the Mary Kay lip glosses is that they are sticky. My  hair is always getting stuck in it and i just feel like I have to keep reapplying.

The last product that I liked is the Blush. Again, I wasn’t a fan of the color at first, but when I tried it out. I fell in love with the rosiness it gave me. I’m all about the mineral makeups, so I was pretty happy to see that. I wish they included a blush brush because all the brushes that I have tried apply it too dark, so lately I’ve been applying with my fingers and rubbing it out for the best look. I also love that it’s magnetic so I can put it in a pallet with my other favorite colors.

Now on to the products I didn’t love. The first one was the bronzer. This briner did some in my color,  but I just am not a fan of bronzer. like I said before, I have pale skin so I just feel dirty wearing it. Maybe it’s the brush or maybe I’m just not experienced enough with it. It’s not on the lower part of my list so maybe I’ll give it a shot again.

Another product that I’m not very comfortable with is the gel eye liner. It was a great product overall, but I don’t think the brush it comes with really does it justice. I think the next time I try it, I will be using an angled eyeliner brush that I have in my collection. What I did like about this product is that it’s very creamy so you have to be careful dpping your brush into it other wise you’ll get too much. I also liked how pigmented it is. i’ve very black which was nice. I also like how quickly it dries so it’s won’t budge all day. I will probably give this one another try, but not a favorite… yet.

The last two products are kind of equal. The mascara and the translucent powder. What I didn’t like about the mascara was that it smudges so bad! Even though they say it’s smudge resistant, all I had was smudges. Ive tried many kinds of mascaras and i’ve never had so many problems applying it and getting it all over. I felt like I was a child just learning how to put mascara on. I’m 26 and shouldn’t have to feel that way. I also didn’t like that you can’t build it up. This would be more of a day time mascara than an all the time mascara.

And lastly, the translucent powder. This was equally as bad. I just don’t get setting powders. They either look too cakey or I am shiny a few minutes later. I have a finishing spray that works amazing on reducing shine and smudging so I’ll just stick with that. I do have a friend who would love this, so I’ll be giving it to her for her birthday.

Over all, I’m very happy with this box and am so glad that I was selected to review it. I hope that I get choose again to do so because it was so much fun getting to wear it around as well as tell every out about my experience.
