October 2014 Birchbox

So this month I wasn’t too excited to receive either my Birchbox or my Ipsy Bag. The only thing I was looking forward to in this month’s box was the Mally lipgloss and that is because I had the opportunity to choose it and the color.  I ended up really liking most of the products which was a huge plus. I guess you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. 😉 If you want to sign up for a Birchbox subscription, Click Here.

Oct-Birchbox-cover Birchbox-cards

This month’s box has everything to do with being a couch potato… kind of. They are embracing being able to stay in, watch all the new fall TV premiers, find a new flick or read a good new book. S with that in mind, every box came with a card that you are suppose to fill in your favorite TV show that you are binge-watching right now. Along with that card, every box also comes with the explanation card that talks about all the items included and some tips on how to use them.

Now that the explaining is over with, let’s get into the good stuff. 😉

Mally: High Shine Liquid Lipstick – FULL SIZE – Value $20

This Lipstick is the one thing that I really wanted in this box and since it is a full size tube, this one product makes the whole box worth it. It is a sticky lipstick so you’ll have to take that into consideration. speaking of lipstick, if it’s sticky like that, shouldn’t you call it a gloss? Anyway, I really like this stuff and I really like the color is came in, “Petal to the Metal”.

Atelier Cologne: Santal Carmin Cologne Absolue – Sample Size – Value $1

This perfume or cologne is pretty yummy! It’s almost a unisex scent which is odd, but I would so wear it. I’m not sure what all is in this, but I smell vanilla and something woodsy. The sad thing is… the full size from Birchbox is 200ml with a cost of $265!! Holy moly!! I cannot afford that. I guess I will be very stingy with this sample. It says a little will go a long way and will last all day. I sure hope so with a cost of that much!

AtelierCologne

Borghese: Fango Brilliante Brightening Mud Mask for Face & Body – 1 oz – Value $3.64

This mud mask is one that I’ve never tried. I really like that it’s pink and it really leaves your face feeling super hydrated and clean! 🙂 It’s a clarifying mud mask from Borghese’s classic Active Mud masks. It’s packed with Vitamin A and it purifies pores and clears blemishes. I could really see this after 1 use. It says to leave on for 5-10 minutes then remove with a damp washcloth. Another tip that Birchbox says to try is to put it on your hands as a hand treatment… I will have to try this out because if it helps, that’d be great!

Borghese

Essentiel Elements: Wake Up Rosemary Shower Gel – 1.5 oz. – Value $3.56

First off, I LOVE the packaging of this body wash and second, I LOVE the scent of it as well. When I saw “wake up”, I was thinking citrus, but I love the rosemary and minty scent. It really does wake you up. I love the texture as well. I would buy a full size of this for sure.

ShowerGel

Lord & Berry – 0.01 oz. – Value $4.50

I do love black eyeliners, but I’m not sure that I’m a fan of the black with glitter. I may be passing this on as I don’t really have a use for glitter in my day to day makeup routine.

LordEyeLiner

Was it worth it?

It was $10 for the box and actually got about $33 worth of products, so I would say YES, it was worth the value to get this box. It was worth it just for the Mally lipstick.  And to top it off, you still get Birchbox points for reviewing which really makes this worth more. I wasn’t crazy happy about this box, but I will keep going and see what November has in store.

This is not a sponsored post. I pay for this monthly subscription and all the thoughts/opinions are my own.
