When you hear Farm to Table, what do you think of?
When I hear that phrase, I think of bringing people together within the community through agri-tourism, local food, farmers and chefs who are experts in bringing the freshest ingredients to the table in creative and unique ways, and on October 29, that is exactly what I experienced. I actually decided to try and get a ticket at the last minute because the menu looked amazing! I knew it was something I had to be apart of!
Yesterday, a few of the North Iowa Bloggers got together again to have some lunch at a fairly new restaurant to Clear Lake, the Ladybug Greenhouse Cafe, Bakery, Wellness Center & Spa. I’m always up for trying new restaurants, especially when they are in my hometown! 🙂

Last weekend sure was a busy one, I think every town had something going on. I know a few of the North Iowa Bloggers spent the weekend down in Franklin County for their Bloggers Harvest Tour. If you want to read about their weekend, you can find their posts at the links below.
While they were enjoying Franklin County, I was with my family in Clear Lake enjoying their Harvest Festival. This is an event that I look forward to every year. This year was extra special because it was their 10th Anniversary. To celebrate, they had special bags to put everything in. They also had a fun contest where a few people had specially painted wine glasses. You were to then take the glass to the chamber to get your prize. It was kind of like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to see if you had the golden ticket… or painted wine glass. 🙂 Sadly, no one is my family got one, but a lady that I work with said someone in her group of friends got one. So cool!
Photo from the Northwestern Steakhouse
In honor of my birthday, which was on Tuesday this week, and my tradition of eating out at the Northwestern Steakhouse in Mason City, I will be sharing a similar greek steak recipe that you can try out. I will warn you, these steaks are delicious, but are not even close to how great the steaks are at the restaurant. 🙂 The waitresses always told me that it was their oven that made it so good. I still believe them to this day.
